    Rules:
    0113th Pt. Nandan Mehta Taal Vaadya Spardha - 2026 will be held on 27th–28th February & 01st March, 2026 at Ahmedabad.
    02The last date of submission of application forms is 22nd February, 2026.
    03The participant will have to submit the application form along with
    • A. Proof of Age
    • B. Authentication by his/ her Guru or Reputed Teaching Institution.
    04The application form should be filled up online on www.saptak.org OR should be sent through speed post at the below mentioned address to reach on or before 22nd February, 2026.

    05The Age limit for the Competition is 18 to 34 (Completed) years as on 22nd February, 2026 (i.e. 19 th and 35 th years running).
    06The preliminary round will be held on 27th & 28th February, 2026 and the final round will be held on 28th February and/or 01st March, 2026.
    07Performance time duration for each participant for the Competition would be:
    Preliminary Round - 15 Min and Final Round - 20 Min.
    08Up to a minimum of six participants will be selected for the Final Round from the Preliminary round.
    09Maximum time duration to tune the instruments and set the sound for both the rounds will be 5 minutes.
    10An indication will be given at the starting of last 2 minutes to warn the participant to complete his/her performance within those last 2 minutes. Final indication will be given at the end of the allotted time to stop the performance. Negative marks will be given if the participant fails to complete performance by the final indication.
    11It is mandatory for selected participants to play a different 'Taal' in the final round from the preliminary round.
    12The Participant will have to end his/her performance at any time in between their performance at discretion of Judges.
    13Only one accompaniment i.e. Harmonium/Sarangi will be allowed with the participant.
    14Accompanist will be provided to the participant by the organizer with the prior intimation by the participant at the time of submitting the application. In case, the participant chooses to bring his/her own accompanist, then he/she will have to bear all related costs for the accompanist.
    15The order of the participants would be decided by a draw at 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to the competition and the same would be displayed at the venue. Any change in the decided order will not be allowed.
    16Every participant will have to register on arrival at the venue.
    17It is compulsory for the participant to be present at the competition hall during the entire competition. In case the participant fails to report on stage even after three calls, he/she will stand disqualified from the competition.
    18The participants will observe strict discipline and any of them found indulging in indiscipline of any nature (such as approaching the committee or judges, disrespect towards committee members, judges, use of foul/derogatory language etc.) are liable for disqualification from the competition.
    19Lodging and Boarding will be borne by the organizers. Travel expense and transportation will be borne by the participants. Participants are requested to reach the venue before 09:00 AM.
    20There shall be a panel of three judges for the conduct of the competition. The norms for the judgement will be decided by the committee and their judgement will be final.
    21Prize:
    1st Rs.21,000/- (Rupees Twenty-One Thousand Only)
    2nd Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only)
    3rd Rs.9,000/- (Rupees Nine Thousand Only)
    Note: - For the final result, it is not compulsory for the judges to give a prize on all three positions. The final call of judgement solely depends on the performance and the talent of the participants. In case of more than one person being selected for the same prize, the prize amount shall be equally distributed among them.
    22The Prize distribution will be held on 01st March, 2026 after the concert organized by Saptak
    23THE FIRST PRIZE WINNER WILL BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM AT THE NEXT SAPTAK ANNUAL MUSIC FESTIVAL (TO BE HELD IN JANUARY).
    24Saptak reserves the right to amend any rules to make the competition more meaningful and transparent.
