PT. Nandan Mehta Taal-Vaadya Spardha

Born on February 26, Pt. Nandan Mehta was a distinguished exponent of the Banaras Gharana tabla and one of the founding trustees of Saptak.
In celebration of his birth anniversary, Saptak organises the annual All-India Tabla-Pakhawaj Competition, "Pt. Nandan Mehta Taal-Vaadya Spardha", every year since 2012.
The first-prize winner of this competition earns a coveted solo performance at Saptak’s prestigious Annual Music Festival in January, while other promising young participants would get an opportunity to perform at various Saptak events throughout the year.
Over the years, this competition has earned widespread acclaim from the music fraternity and immense popularity across the country.
